The day we’ve all been waiting for is upon us; the Sunday XI finally have a home fixture!
The preferential friendlies continue and with the positives of last week ringing in their ears, The Sunday Bears are keen to be on the right side of the result. Last week saw the batsman triumph (notably James Ebdon, Jon Heywood and Ed Gooding), posting an unheard of 194 from 30 overs. With the Sunday sides all-round fielding innings performance improving, it would be a plus to see it in the results, but with The Glasshouse this year looking like a viable option for Heathrow’s runway 3, a par score doesn’t look pretty. On the plus side, at least there are no hedges to fetch the ball from this week!
Our opponents are a new one to Bear Flat CC as far as I know. I am sure Richard Bahadoor, emboldened with the confidence that only a regular five wicket taker provides for a hardened bowler, will correct me if required. We are looking forward to welcoming a new club to our community and a game played in good cricketing spirit!
