BFCC v Beehive Southwick – Saturday 1 June – Match Preview

by | May 30, 2019 | Archived

The Saturday Bears welcome Beehive Southwick to the Glasshouse for this weekend’s game after having a blank Saturday – what a great idea by the way! (Thanks Swindon United Hospitals, let’s get this in the diary again, if we stay up!)

The Bears haven’t faced Beehive since they joined the Wiltshire league in their championship winning season of 2013. Those two games resulted in two victories for the team….former Bear, Michael Sherring hit a sublime 123 in the away fixture, Lewis Baxter picked up 6 wickets over the two games and Mr Reliable, Chris Bence hit back to back 50s.

The skipper is able to welcome back the youthful paring of Morris and Mainwaring after their poorly planned trip to the ODI, George Ellis after attending his friend’s birthday party in London (hope the party bag was good!) and Paul Wood to the team.

However, he is still without a number of key players for a variety of reasons, he also loses Bath University’s ‘dynamic’ duo after this weekend’s game too. It is hoped that availability will become better as we head towards the middle part of the season.

We also have a guest scorer for the game, Mrs Harris, mother of aspiring physician, Tom Harris, will be travelling up from rural Hampshire to do the book.

The lovely Zoe Morris will be on tea duty so a veritable feast is bound to be on offer so please do get up and support the boys.
