Goatacre v BFCC – Saturday 11 May – Match Preview

The Saturday Bears make the trip to WEPL club Goatacre (very close to RAF Lyneham) for the first time in the club’s history this weekend in their third league game of the 2019 season. Not much is known about the team apart from that old adversary, and Dyrham and Hinton legend Andrew ‘the King of Spin’ Lewis plays for them….no doubtedly bagging 5-fers for fun still.

The skipper is able to welcome back his subcontinental superstars in the form of; Shreyas Malhotra and Ashwin Agrawal from their early season break to bolster both the spin department…… and batting of course. He is also able to welcome back the leg spinning Yasir Ahmedani and offer Saturday debuts to the hard-hitting batting duo of Atharva Tembhekar and Dhruv Deora.

However, he is without the youthful paring of Morris and Mainwaring (both at the ODI), and the not so youthful pairing of, Bence (at a wedding), Wilson (Daddy day-care). He still has to continue without the services of injured South African triumphant, Bester (wrist injury), Deoliveria (ankle injury) and Katz (head injury). Other injuries include, Wood (back injury), Sherring (little finger injury). Finally Heywood (TBC), Johnson (TBC) and Porter who is on his L 1 millionth cricket coarse.
