Match Preview – Hinton Charterhouse – Saturday 23 June

by | Jun 22, 2018 | Archived

The Saturday XI are back at Fortress Glasshouse this weekend to host our friends from Hinton Charterhouse, a team we always enjoy playing against. The Bears won both games during the 2016 season, the home game by 57 runs thanks to half centuries from Gunning (61) and Newman (57) and 6 wickets for the two Joshs. The away fixture was much closer, a 17 runs victory was set up by two further half centuries from Gunning (53) and Newman (60)  with the wickets shared around.

The skipper is able to welcome back the following to the team; All-rounder, Jon Haywood, destructive batsman, Mike Smyth, Opening bowler, Paul Wood and seasonal debutante, and third man specialist, Simon Porter.

However, he is still without a number of players; (1) George Ellis, (2) Jack Mainwaring, (3) Lloyd Katz, (4) Joe De Souza, (5) Tom Harris,  (6) Harry Cadbury, (6) Gareth Millar, (7) Matthew Johnson, (8) Tony Deoliveira, (9) Simon Cox, and (10) Mike Sherring

All support would be most welcome – we have Zoe on tea duty so it’s certain to be an outstanding spread.

The Bears are proudly sponsored by Chef de Party, The Devonshire Arms, RH Hayes Roofing and Josh Sutton Plumbing.
