The Saturday XI heads up the M4 corridor for this weekend’s game against Nationwide House, a team against whom we’ve always had very competitive games since our arrival in Wiltshire’s top flight. During the Championship winning season of 2017, the home game couldn’t have been closer with the skipper, and vice leaving it until the penultimate ball of the game to see The Bears home to victory. The away game was a little less tight with a 128 run victory, thanks to an exceptional display of penetrative bowling by Ross Newman (4 wickets) and a cultured (52) from Josh Parkyn.
The skipper is able to welcome back/welcome: Mark Gunning, Jay Morris, Sam Vesey, Rob Wilson, 15 year old Ollie Cox for a Sat XI debut, and club legend Nick ‘The Badger’ Purnell.
However, he is without a glut of players; (1) Simon Cox, (2) Matthew Johnson, (3) Jon Heywood, (4) Charlie Samler, (5) Tony Deoliveira (all of whom stepped up last week to help out – thanks), (6) Michael Smyth, (7) Simon Porter, (8) Paul Wood, (9) Lloyd Katz, (10) Joe De Souza, (11) Tom Harris, (12) Harry Cadbury, (13) Gareth Millar, (14) Jack Mainwaring (15) Henry Smith and (16) George Ellis.
All support would be most welcome. #COYB
